At the beginning of the semester, I struggled a lot with tone, genre, and even paraphrasing. When writing my source-based essay, you will see that I struggled a lot with trying to identify the tone and genre of the articles I analyzed. Also, you will see how I used big quotations throughout my essay and many run-on sentences. As we learned new techniques throughout the semester you will see how much my writing improves. Instead of using direct quotes that are 6 sentences long, I use smaller quotes and paraphrase more often. As the progress of my essay, you will notice how I stop depending don’t rely on quotations as much as in my first essay.
